The system is very flexible in how long you want to make each part of the system to be. This is intended to be a drip irrigation system where water slowly comes out over a period of time. Since hanging baskets do not need a ton of water, I only set this to run for about 10 minutes a day, morning and evening. For larger floor pots, be sure you don't overwater if you are doing this near a doorway. The puddles can get a bit much. Also, watch out for freeze warnings! The ice will pop the tips off the system if left to the deep freeze. Whoops.
