Ninjutsu Weapon: Kusari Fundo - Black Belt Grappling Techniques - Ninja Weapons Training. Demonstrates some training exercises that mostly employ grappling methods with the KUSARI FUNDO. Notice the defensive maneuvers as well as the attacks. The "kusari" is the chain and the "fundo" are the metal bits at the ends. When training, many dojos use rope with knots or wooden bits at the end to practice safely. Chains with metal tips should only be used with great care. For safety reasons, Sensei is not showing extreme whipping, hard core poking and striking or flesh-scraping methods - which are some of the most potentially lethal maneuvers with this weapon. This clip mainly shows defensive grappling meant to subdue an attacker. Sensei and the students are intentionally using a slow and soft-style training method here (as in ALL the videos on this channel) to encourage safe training practices among novices. We encourage everyone to avoid trying all martial art exercises quickly or with great strength, unless you are a very advanced martial artist under supervision of qualified teachers training with other experienced athletes.
