Cozying Up as the Wintertide Begins

Vlog 33 This past week I decided to take advantage of the rain and slow down - taking the chance to be still again Simple Bread Recipe: What you'll Need 2.25 teaspoons yeast 1 teaspoon sugar 1.25 cup warm water (100 - 110 F) 1.5 teaspoons salt 2.5 cups bread flour dutch oven combine yeast, sugar, and warm water in a mixing bowl and cover with a tea towel for 5 minutes allowing it to proof until the yeast is foamy once time has passed add in the salt and a bit of flour. Slowly mix together - adding in the flour bit by bit as you go. - you may need to add in more flour/water depending on your climate Once the mixture is completely combined and smooth (it should be sticky) form it into a ball and lightly coat with flour. Place the dough into an oiled bowl and cover it with a tea towel. Allow it to rise for 1 hour in a warm place or until doubled in size. Once time has passed gently tip the dough onto a flour surface and begin forming it by folding in the corners until it becomes tight. Place it back into an oiled bowl and allow it to rise for another 30 minutes. Start preheating the oven (with the dutch oven inside) to 460 F now. Once dough is proofed, coat it with flour and score it if desired. Place the dough into the warmed dutch oven and then bake for 30 minutes with the lid on plus an additional 10 - 20 with the lid off. Allow to cool and then enjoy! Pine and Peppermint Headache Oil: for this recipe I am doing an experiment with both olive oil and jojoba oil. Olive oil has traditionally been my go to for any sort of oil I'm working with medicinally or magickally but I want to start experimenting with a few new ones as well! To make this I simply took enough pine needles and dried peppermint leaves to fill up my jars and then I coated them with the oil. I have them now setting in a dark place for 6 weeks - shaking them every now and again to keep them infusing and then I will be crafting salves or balms from what results!
