The legendary treasure hunt on Oak Island reaches a new, critical turning point in the northern part of the swamp and at the infamous Money Pit site. After the team has excavated almost the entire northern section of the swamp, mysterious survey stakes come into focus. Their exact locations are meticulously recorded to test a historical connection to the well-known cobblestone path. During the continued search, metal detector expert Gary Drayton unearths an unusual, ornate artifact with a pronounced patina. The unclear metal alloy—copper, lead, or tin—and the characteristic edges suggest that it could be a historical Spanish coin, such as a maravedi, a seal, or an old button recovered directly from the swamp floor. The find is therefore sent to the lab for immediate analysis. Meanwhile, the following morning, under the watchful eyes of Peter Fornetti and Charles Barkhouse, massive drilling operations begin at the Money Pit site for the "Karma One" shaft. Using heavy equipment, two crane systems, and a giant auger, the team is rapidly digging through hard clay and rubble to reach the infamous solution channel at a depth of 49 meters.
