Bus Stranded in Desert: SUPERMAN is not Coming

The ride with a Greyhound Bus was bad. The bus was old, the seats uncomfortable, no light in the smelly and dirty bathroom. 90 miles east of San Diego on the Interstate 8 the bus broke down. I was stranded in the middle of the desert. 120 degrees Fahrenheit outside, no AC inside the bus. First I thought the engine overheated, because we were driving in the hot desert. But it turned out that a terminal on one the the batteries on the bus was so corroded that the whole electrical system of the bus failed. The bus driver and some of the passengers of the bus fixed the problem by taking a couple of rocks from the road and banging with them on the corroded terminal until all the corrosion was hammered away. There were not even any tools on board of the bus. But why do you need tools when you have rocks? After this "repair" the engine started again and we were able to drive very slowly with no further breakdowns towards San Diego. We were stranded for about 45 minutes. Thank you Greyhound.
