British actor Orlando Bloom, currently visiting Japan, appeared at a press conference for his starring film "Cape Town" (directed by Jerome Salle) held in Tokyo on August 27th. Actress Nozomi Sasaki attended the press conference and presented Bloom with a bouquet of flowers, meeting him for the first time. Sasaki commented on the film, saying, "I was blown away by his physical beauty. I was also moved by the portrayal of love between colleagues and family. I was captivated until the very end. It's a truly excellent film." Sasaki smiled and said, "I'd like you to promote the film on my behalf. I'm heading to Europe for promotion soon, so I'd like you to help me." In the film, Bloom plays a self-indulgent detective who is unruly and unattractive to women. Sasaki said, "He plays a man who isn't trusted at first, but gradually gains trust. I think women are very attracted to men like that." This was Bloom's first official visit and press conference in Japan in roughly seven years, since the 2007 film "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End." The film tells the story of Detective Brian, played by Bloom, and Detective Ali, played by American actor Forest Whitaker, who investigate a child disappearance case in Cape Town, South Africa. The film is due to be released on the 30th.
