We took the Mazda 3 equipped with the "SKYACTIV-X", which went on sale on December 5th, for the first time on Japanese roads. We tested both the AT and MT models and report on the eye-opening drivability of this "dream engine" that uses the groundbreaking "SPCCI" technology, which compresses the gasoline mixture with an expanding flame ball around the spark plug and causes it to self-ignite.
