Mudslides in Gschnitz & Neustift: Cleanup efforts after the severe weather disaster Following heavy rainfall, massive mudslides occurred in Gschnitz, Neustift im Stubaital, and the Landeck district (Stanzer Tal & Pfunds). Buildings were damaged, roads were made impassable, and basements flooded – the damage is enormous. 🔺 Governor Anton Mattle visited the affected areas, promised rapid assistance from the disaster relief fund, and thanked the emergency services for their tireless work. 🚒 Around 150 firefighters from across Tyrol are deployed in Gschnitz – supported by the Austrian Federal Army and numerous volunteers. 🪖 40 Austrian Federal Army soldiers are now assisting with the cleanup efforts on site. 🏚️ In Neustift, the districts of Gasteig, Volderau, and Krößbach are particularly affected. The Tyrolean State Government has pledged immediate emergency aid – up to 50% of the damage can be reimbursed.
