【Chinese Loong Lizard】The World's First Diploderma Documentary Film SE01 Part 1 【中国龙蜥】壹（EN/DE/CN）

This past year we traveled to the Hengduan Mountains in China to film a documentary about Diploderma. We hope to bring you a comprehensive understanding of this endemic species, which is mainly found in China! About the English common name: Diploderma used to be widely known overseas as "Mountain Dragon". However: 1. "Mountain Dragon" is a duplicate of the English name of the Australian genus Rankinia, which may give rise to ambiguity. 2. Nowadays, the Chinese dragon is increasingly translated as "Loong" to avoid the negative connotation of "Dragon". Since most of the Diploderma names are derived from Chinese mythology, the direct translation "Loong Lizard" is more appropriate. Since in practice, multiple common names are allowed for a single species, this video adopts "Loong Lizard" as the English name for Diploderma. This translation is only considered from the perspective of cultural communication, and you are welcome to choose your own according to your preference.
