How to get married in Holland: Summer Vibes with wedding officiant Daphne
In Athens, wedding officiant Daphne spent a wonderful week, charging batteries and submerging herself and her family into culture (of course the Acropolis), good food, and also getting to know all about Greek weddings, which are, just like the movie title says ‘big and fat’. Picture a sunny summer day iat a small Greek square in front of a church. Two wedding parties arrive. Two? Yes, two! The bride and the groom arrive with their respective wedding parties following them, their first look is when they arrive at the church. After church, the groom has to prove himself. In the evening, during the wedding party, he has to make his way through the tight circle of his friends who are dancing around his wife. Making it through means he is worthy of her. In the Netherlands we have other traditions; in future episodes, we will share similar stories from Holland and other cultures.
