How do I wash my motorcycle clothing?

In this video review, Chris talks through how to wash your technical motorcycle clothing. Not everybody washes their motorcycle gear. And quite a few of those who do, don’t know how to do it properly. Which is why Chris has put together this short video showing how it should be done, Frankly, it’s not rocket science, but if you simply throw your gear into the washing machine with your socks and knickers there’s a good chance that you’ll ruin your gear to such an extent that it will never work properly again. If you watched our recent video about base layers, you’ll know just how important it is that our bike clothing should remain breathable. If you don’t wash it at all, over time it will become less breathable. This will make it harder for the body to stay cool. It will make your suit less waterproof. And in certain circumstances it can make make you feel colder. Washing your gear is a good habit to get in to. But use the wrong stuff and in less than a couple of hours you can totally destroy your suit. Use the right stuff and you will make your gear nicer to wear. It will do its job better. And it will last longer. Chris breaks it all down. It is all very simple and straightforward. And, thinking about it, there’s probably never been a better time than the present. Even though the Lockdown has been eased, most of us are not doing a lot of riding, and many of us have more spare time than we’ve ever had.
