On a spring weekend when the sakura had just started to bloom, we found an unexpected opening online and decided to go camping. We visited RECAMP Shonan, located in Kashiwa City, Chiba — one of the nationwide RECAMP campgrounds, and a hidden gem with great access from Tokyo. What makes this place unique is its spiral-shaped layout. From the higher ground, the cherry blossoms are right in front of you — no need to look up. It’s like camping inside a cherry blossom tunnel.
