Omamori Instructions Video

Instructions 1. On the back of this card, you will see the different types of omamori people get. On the small piece of paper, write either the kanji(symbols in the middle) or hiragana(in parenthesis) forms of the themes. 2. On the bigger index card, write down your wish/message pertaining to the theme. [it doesn’t have to be but it is recommended]. You can also write the wish/message on a post-it note if more space is required, just fold it to either the size of the card or smaller to fit. 3. Grabbing the cover sheet, fold the 2 flaps along the dotted lines. 4. Place the cover sheet design side down(with the blank white side facing up). 5. Fold along the two dotted lines that are marked “A” towards the blank side of the cover and lay it back down with blank side facing up [delete] 6. Place the bigger card along the middle crease of the cover sheet. It’s best that you place it on the side where the markings are, and then place the bigger side closest to the middle crease. If you added a post it note, fold it and carefully place it in the middle of the bigger card. 7. Now, you will apply glue on the two “A” flaps you folded but try not to pass the line marked “C”. 8. Place the wad of cotton in the middle of the stack. Try to even out the distribution of cotton so that it’s not lopsided or thicker on one side or else it will be harder to perform the next step. 9. Fold the cover along the middle crease and pinch the sides together so the glue stays 10. Using scissors, cut off the section marked “B” along the solid line. 11. Now, fold the dotted lines down and tuck them in, starting with either the left or right and lastly the middle. Turn the cover around and do the same on the opposite side. 12. Apply glue to the sides you folded down and pinch them together. 13. Push both ends of the knots through the hole like shoelaces and adjust it so that the middle loop is pointing downwards. Then, tie both ends twice to secure the knot. 14. Glue the smaller card to the middle of the charm. 15. Now, you can attach it to anywhere you want- a key chain, a backpack, a purse, etc. Have fun!
