I don't know what Morrissey had in mind when he wrote this, but for me this song is about growing up as a gay kid in the suburbs, being rejected by your parents, but finding freedom in the form of another boy who has a car. Maybe this boy will be his first love if he finds the courage to tell him. But for ow he is content, grateful and hopeful. He thinks, "If I could die right now, I'd die happy." Recorded on a rainy morning in May, 2017 on my iPhone in Olivebridge, NY.
