Davis (Cigarette Smoking Man) and Mitch Pileggi (Walter Skinner) reunited on stage for the very special event "The Truth is Here" at the 2018 Montreal Comiccon where they told entertaining and hilarious behind-the-scenes tales and answered excited fan questions about their respective careers. "The X-Files" is an American science fiction drama television series created by Chris Carter. The original television series aired on Fox from September 10, 1993 to May 19, 2002. The program spanned nine seasons with 202 episodes. A short tenth season consisting of six episodes premiered on January 24, 2016. Following the ratings success of this revival, Fox announced in April 2017 that "The X-Files" would be returning for an eleventh season of ten episodes. That season premiered on January 3, 2018. In addition to the television series, two feature films have been released: The 1998 film "The X-Files" which was part of the TV series' continuity, and the stand-alone film "The X-Files: I Want to Believe" released in 2008 -- six years after the original television run had ended. David William Duchovny (born August 7, 1960) is an American actor, writer, producer, director, novelist, and singer-songwriter. He is well known for playing FBI agent 'Fox Mulder' on the television series "The X-Files" and writer 'Hank Moody' on the television series "Californication" -- both of which earned him Golden Globe awards. Duchovny appeared in both "X-Files" films, the 1998 science fiction-thriller of the same name and the supernatural-thriller "The X-Files: I Want to Believe" (2008). He executive-produced and starred in the historically based cop drama "Aquarius" (2015–16). Duchovny received an A.B. in English literature from Princeton University, and an M.A. in English literature from Yale University, and has since published three books, "Holy Cow: A Modern-Day Dairy Tale" in 2015, "Bucky F*cking Dent" in 2016 and "Miss Subways" in 2018. William Bruce Davis (born January 13, 1938) is a Canadian actor and director, best known for his role as the (Cigarette) 'Smoking Man' on "The X-Files." Besides appearing in many TV programs and movies, Davis founded his own acting school: the William Davis Centre for Actors Study. In his personal life, Davis is an avid water-skier, lectures on skepticism at events such as the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry's CSICon, and advocates for action on climate change. In 2011 Davis published his memoir, "Where There’s Smoke - The Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man." Mitchell Craig "Mitch" Pileggi (born April 5, 1952) is an American actor, best known for his role as 'Walter Skinner' on "The X-Files." He also had a recurring role on "Stargate Atlantis" as 'Colonel Steven Caldwell.' He appeared in the 2008 film "Flash of Genius." In 2008, he began a recurring role as 'Ernest Darby' in "Sons of Anarchy." He starred as 'Harris Ryland' in the TNT revival of "Dallas" (2012–2014).
