Spongebob Squarepants took the world by storm when it premiered in 1999. The show would become Nickelodeon's most popular cartoon since Rugrats. Spongebob would quickly become Nickelodeons mascot in the eyes of many viewers, though he was never officially declared the mascot of Nickelodeon. When the show first premiered, an icon was born and a cultural phenomenon that would span the following decades would arise. Today, we look at what I consider to be 5 iconic episodes of Spongebob Squrepants. They aren't the MOST iconic, because I feel that would be too bold of a claim, but they're iconic episodes nevertheless.
