This week, we'll be laying the exterior bricks and finishing touches. We have guests in Pyeongchang. The EBS Korea Travel team, curious about Pyeongchang life, came to film us. Unfortunately, Mongmongi couldn't film because he was busy with work. The exterior bricks are exposed to the outside, so they need to be laid straight. I'm not planning on adding horizontal joints, but that's because it looks neat and attractive. While laying the exterior bricks, I'll fill any gaps between the cement bricks and the concrete with mortar. Once we've covered the top, the masonry is complete. Next, we'll need to apply the mortar, but because of the rain, we'll start with the water channel. Perforated pipes start at 100mm, but since we didn't have any suitable fittings, and since we had PVC pipe in the warehouse, we decided to reuse it. So, we made one by drilling holes in a 50mm PVC pipe. There are definitely a lot of joints. After drilling the holes, wrap them with non-woven fabric to prevent gravel and dirt from clogging them, then install them behind the retaining wall. Cover them with gravel and dirt. For the grouting, mix some grout cement and force it between the bricks. Unfortunately, the grout packaging I bought had the wrong water-to-water ratio, so the mixture ended up too watery. I had no choice but to wipe the bricks after the grouting, and the black bricks turned gray. Haha. Anyway, I'm glad I got a sturdy retaining wall!
