רדיו אפנדי נולד ממפגשים מוסיקליים אינטימיים – מתוך ערגה לצליל הראשוני וחיפוש אחר הצליל הנצחי. ההרכב מבצע חומר מקורי ועיבודים ליצירות מהמוסיקה הקלאסית העתיקה והמודרנית, הכלית והקולית, מטורקיה, פרס, ארמניה ועוד. הדמיון והשוני בין מסורות אלו יוצרים מפגש מרתק של תרבויות, צלילים וקולות מן המזרח, השזורים בחוט של פרשנות ישראלית ייחודית. חברי ההרכב הם תלמידים של מאסטרים ידועים בארץ ובעולם; כל אחד מהם מביא עמו מגוון של השפעות מוסיקליות, החוברות יחד לכדי רוח יצירתית חדשה, בת המקום והזמן, אך בעלת תחושה שורשית עמוקה. התוצאה היא אוסף יצירות שקו דק, כמעט בלתי מורגש, עובר ביניהן ורוקם מהן יצירה אחת שהיא מסע המשותף ליוצרים ולמאזין. ***************************************************************************** Radio Effendi was born as a result of intimate musical encounters – out of a yearning for the primordial sound and a quest for the eternal resonance. The ensemble performs original material as well as musical pieces of early and modern classical music, both vocal instrumental, from Persia, Turkey, Armenia and more. Combining similarities and differences between these traditions, Radio Effendi creates a captivating encounter of cultures, sounds, and voices from the Orient, interwoven by the thread of a unique Israeli interpretation. Members of the ensemble are students of renowned masters from Israel and around the world. Each member contributes a variety of musical influences, which when combined together form a new creativity – one that springs from the current time and place, but which is also rooted deeply in tradition. The result is a collection of pieces containing a subtle, almost imperceptible strand that fuses them into a single design – a musical journey for both performers and audience.
