Welcome, come on in and take a look at our Custom Catio project. Watch our Cute and Funny Cats too. After cayotes moved in; neighbors loosing small pets, we took action. While not builders our overall goal is to create a safe and fun outdoor habitat for our sweet shelter felines. Catio updates is now a hobby. We have Incorporated platforms, bridges, transitional hiding spaces, steps, as well as a live tree destination. Our catio enclosure starts on the side of the house and follows the boundaries of our yard to various destinations. If you are considering making a Catio an/or outdoor space; we recommend including elements that allow for running, climbing, lots of shade, places to hide and places to sleep. We have used 14-gauge wire fencing, pressure treated lumber, pet screening, plastic roofing, carpet grass, zip ties, lots of wood screws, wood stain and an excellent contractor. Equipment used includes: a circular saw, chop saw, jig saw, air compressor and the main stay item was the air stapler. We recommend that walkways should be at least 16 inches high and at least 8 inches wide, 10 inches wide or more for area of high traffic. Finally, platforms should be at least 21 in wide. We also added two cedar trees, fresh grass, a few small shrubs, cedar mulch, cat toys, and catnip. With a little bit of creativity and a lot of time, you can create your own Colossal Catio!
