Mount Rushmore Prepares for Historic 4th of July Fireworks and Trump Appearance for America 250

Workers at Mount Rushmore raced to complete preparations on Thursday (July 2) ahead of an Independence Day celebration at the memorial on Friday (July 3) marking America's 250th anniversary, with President Donald Trump expected to deliver remarks. Workers and National Park Service staff bustled around the memorial in South Dakota's Black Hills as organizers readied the site for thousands of visitors expected to gather at the monument, where the faces of Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln are carved into granite. The event is being hosted by Freedom 250, a public-private partnership organized under the White House's Task Force 250 and supported by private donations.
