With twenty years as a kindergarten teacher, I know how important music is for children's development. Music contributes to intellectual, social-emotional, linguistic, overall literacy and motor skills. Children in early development learn the sounds and meaning of words through music. Dancing to music helps children build motor skills while allowing them to practice self-expression. Music also helps strengthen the memory.
