Uwharrie Trail Tour: Backside of Daniel (TR 390) #uwharrie #offroad #3rdgentacoma

Here is an overview of the backside of Daniel (TR 390). This section of the trail is also sometimes called "Little Daniel" since it is the easier half of the trail. Daniel is the hardest trail at the Uwharrie National Forest offroad trail system. The trail it roughly divided in half by a transition point at the top of a peak. The backside of Daniel is the section that connects to Rocky Mountain Loop. The front side of Daniel is the half of the trail that connects down to Cotton Place Trail Head. The front side of Daniel is much more difficult, so it is common for less capable trucks to take Rocky Mountain Loop over to the entrance of the back side of Daniel. You can then ride roughly half of the trail before you reach the large peak where it is convenient to turn around and return to Rocky Mountain Loop. This is a fun trail that has some more interesting obstacles. One of the key features is the number of lines during the rocky hill climb! Instead of one singular trail, it is a large open area with many branches and split offs. If you are unsure, stay right for the easiest path, or hike the trails first to pick your lines!
