Feel free to research this in the Police rider's manual, "Roadcraft" and ALWAYS question what you're taught whilst training as some people pass on their opinions as fact. About my comment at 6:40 .... I was fully aware of what was happening around me as I'd used my mirrors regularly leading up to that point. All I meant was I did a lifesaver for lifesaver's sake out of habit whilst already knowing what was there. Unnecessary at that particular time. Those shoulder checks are still important if you aren't sure what's in your blind spot.
