Big Boi leads an all-star medley of Outkast classics at the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Los Angeles — with J.I.D, Doja Cat, Tyler, the Creator, Janelle Monáe, Sleepy Brown, and Killer Mike each stepping up to honor the legendary Atlanta duo's catalog. Janelle Monáe — a protégé of Big Boi — brought an acoustic guitar to "Hey Ya!" before going full rock star, wandering into the crowd with a crew of dancers. Tyler, the Creator turned "B.O.B." into controlled chaos, and the set built toward a massive finale as the "SpottieOttieDopaliscious" horn riff ushered in "The Way You Move," brought to life by an electrifying 12-piece band. Killer Mike then joined the full cast onstage for "The Whole World" — the only way a set like this could end. André 3000 was in attendance and gave an emotional acceptance speech alongside Big Boi, but chose to sit out the performance. Sleepy Brown and Killer Mike — both original featured artists on their respective songs and members of the Dungeon Family collective that shaped Outkast's sound from the beginning — brought the lineage full circle. Outkast — André 3000 and Big Boi — formed in Atlanta in 1992 and released six studio albums that reshaped the boundaries of hip-hop, funk, soul, and rock. Speakerboxxx/The Love Below (2003) is the highest-selling rap album of all time at 13x platinum. They won six Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year — only the second hip-hop act ever to win that honor. "Hey Ya!" and "The Way You Move" hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously, making them the first duo in chart history to replace themselves at the summit. Outkast was inducted by Donald Glover (Childish Gambino), who called them "undeniable" and declared: "There is no Childish Gambino without you. There is no South without you."
