The Penguin Cool Case Review | Insulin Pen cooling case
The Insulin Pen - Penguin Cool Case review… 0:06 - Winter in Australia 0:30 - Broke my hand 1:08 - To somewhere warm 1:56 - Penguin Cool Case review #penguincoolcase #diabetestech #type1diabetes Penguin Cool Case is designed to protect and keep your insulin pen cool (because insulin cannot get too warm and diabetes shouldn’t impact style) Penguin Cool Case keeps insulin cool with its moistened ventilation design. It has an aluminium exterior which is cool to the touch and protects your insulin pen from bumps and drops. It has little triangles cut out of the case and breathable cotton over each window. Water-absorbing crystals to hold the moisture hidden in a compartment within the case. AND It comes in three colours – Gold, Black, and Silver. And thus far it has no signs of losing its golden shine. Usability Quick preparation (under 5 minutes). Easily portable. Fits in my pocket, but it is long and may not fit all pockets. Looks great when on show, and is easily found when in a bag. it doesn’t leak water You still need to keep it out of HOT CARS with no airflow. Because it only uses moisture and ventilation to keep your insulin cool, Airflow is key. I found when it was travelling in my pocket and pressed up against my thigh, there wasn’t enough airflow, competing against my body's temperature. So if you have the option, keep it off your body and in a bag or purse. When airflow is added to the equation, the Penguin Cool Case is noticeably cooler to the touch. I am surprised by how well the Penguin Cool Case has seamlessly become a part of my daily life. I seriously thought that because it can only hold one insulin pen I wouldn’t get much use out of it… but I don’t go out onto the street with my long-acting insulin, it stayed on my bedside table in an airconditioned hotel room. In public situations, no one has even questioned the golden case when it's presented on the table when dining. Just like phones, wallets, and glasses, it just gets disregarded as personal paraphernalia. The only thing I would love to add is a place to hold a spare needle. Is it worth it… Yes, because I didn’t think id get this much use out of it. It is more than a device to keep your insulin cool, it’s a statement. Diabetes CAN be stylish. In fact, I’m looking to get another one in black – as its more my cool.
