In 2075 kunnen we pas lezen wat onder de Dam begraven is

For the next fifty years, it will remain a secret: what exactly is in the time capsule buried today on Dam Square? In 2075, the child mayor of that year will retrieve the capsule to read, feel, and see what was so typical of 2025. As a young boy, Alderman Rutger Groot Wassink buried dozens of tins containing messages he wrote to the future. To dig them up, you have to go to the Achterhoek region. But closer to home, he and the child mayor buried a time capsule today in honor of the city's 750th anniversary. With the capsule, the municipality wants to "capture the current era and preserve it for future generations." "It's a year with a lot going on. It's a particularly joyful year for Amsterdam," says Groot Wassink. "I think in fifty years, people will be thinking: What were those people doing with those phones? Why is everyone walking around with headphones? Or why are all those weird Japanese figurines so fashionable? But we'll see." The capsule contains ten portraits of Amsterdammers, the coin specially made for the 750th anniversary, a letter from Halsema, a poem, spoken word, and a video about what Amsterdam will be like in 2025—with fat bikes, matcha, and croquettes. During Amsterdam's 800th anniversary, in 2075, the capsule will be unearthed by the child mayor at the time. ❌ ❌ ❌ AT5 - Real Amsterdam News Subscribe to our YouTube channel here:    / at5   Tips or comments?
