Probé Casados de OTRAS PARTES del MUNDO 🇨🇷🇲🇽🇨🇴
Did you know that there are "casados" from other parts of the world in Costa Rica?: I tried Colombian, Chinese, and Mexican versions of the most famous dish in Costa Rican lunch 🇨🇷🍽️ In Costa Rica, everyone knows the casado: rice, beans, salad, meat, ripe plantain, and that perfect combination that makes any lunch a reality. But in this video, I came across something I didn't expect: there are versions of casado inspired by other countries. Today we went out to try three very different casados in Costa Rica: a Colombian casado, a Chinese casado, and a Mexican casado. Three dishes that blend the traditional Costa Rican casado with flavors, ingredients, and cooking styles from Colombia, China, and Mexico. We tried a Colombian casado with pork rinds, potatoes, rice, beans and egg; a Chinese casado with Cantonese rice and chop suey in Cartago; and a Mexican casado with tacos, plantain chips, rice, beans, pork rinds and birria-style salsa. During the tour, we used the "casado-o-meter" to compare each dish based on three things: size, price, and how filling it is. The idea wasn't to argue about which country makes the best food, but to discover how well the casado adapts to flavors from other cultures. This video is for lovers of Costa Rican food, Colombian food, Mexican food, Chinese food, and Latin American cuisine in general!!
