Las Vegas tunnels: The harsh reality of living underground | NewsNation Reports

There's a dark and well-kept secret under the bright lights of the Las Vegas strip where carefree Americans play and casinos rake in billions of dollars a year. Hidden tunnels, intended for sewage drainage, house an estimated 2,000 homeless men, women and children. NewsNation's Alex Caprariello gets an inside look at these tunnels, getting the chance to speak with some of the people living underground. They share heart-breaking stories about survival and the harsh realities of being homeless in the United States. The city doesn't have a solution because the tunnels can't be shut off during the incoming monsoon season. Homeless advocates like the Shine a Light Foundation are trying to “shine a light” on the situation because it's a dangerous reality no one wants to talk about.
