Live: Lambert, Hendricks and Ross with the Count Basie Orchestra - Avenue C
Avenue C written by Buck Clayton, Jon Hendricks, and Dave Lambert performed by Lambert, Hendricks and Ross with the Count Basie Orchestra unknown program, circa 1959 All I can say is this tour de force latches on a never lets go. Sonny Payne's solo is just as energetic as Dave, Jon and Annie's flawless vocalese approach to this great classic from the Basie "swingbook." Any information on what program this might have originated from and the exact date this aired or was taped would be appreciated. Please, excuse the phasing problems associated with the audio on this clip. I did what I could to eliminate it as much as I could with out ruining the integrity of the performance.
