Previously, police found Rp 67 billion in cash stored in a hidden safe at Cafe de'Clan and Koin Money Changer in the Cipete area of ​​South Jakarta. Through his attorney, Handika Hanggowongso, suspect Don Ritto confirmed that Cafe de'Clan and Koin Money Changer are two of his client's businesses. However, Handika denied that the money found by investigators was related to the three alleged corruption cases currently being investigated by the National Police. Handika explained that in the alleged corruption case at PT Asabri, Don Ritto's name was linked to property tycoon Tan Kian. However, he stated that his client did not know Tan Kian at all and had no connection or involvement in the case. He also emphasized that Don Ritto had no connection whatsoever to the alleged corruption case involving coal supplies at PLN or the debts case involving a subsidiary of Krakatau Steel. Therefore, he expressed his surprise at why his client was linked to these three corruption cases and even accused of money laundering. Furthermore, Handika stated that the tens of billions of rupiah recovered by investigators did not originate from criminal activity. According to him, the money was related to a business collaboration between Don Ritto and a businessman for the construction of a port project in East Kalimantan.
