Trust May 2026

"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" Matthew 6:26 This Saturday morning I went live on Facebook for a session that met so many of us exactly where we are. Because if there is one thing most of us are carrying right now, it is worry. Worry about what is coming. Worry about what is not coming. Worry about the things we cannot control and the things we can see changing around us and the questions that do not yet have answers. And Jesus with all of heaven available to Him, points at a bird. Look at the birds. Not at a theological argument. Not at a carefully constructed doctrine. A bird. Going about its morning completely unbothered. Completely unworried. Completely held by the same God who holds you. A little thought to carry with you: The bird does not sow. Does not reap. Does not stockpile out of fear that tomorrow there will not be enough. And yet it is fed. Every morning. Faithfully. Without fail. Jesus is not telling you to stop working or stop planning or stop showing up. He is telling you to stop carrying the crushing weight of believing that everything depends entirely on you. You are not the bird's provider. God is. And you — He says — are worth so much more to Him than the bird. Are you not much more valuable than they? Yes. You are. And He has not forgotten you. Not for a single morning. Not once.
