Why Her Home is a Target for Factory Farms and Big Tech.
Kingsboro, North Carolina is home to a decades long battle for clean water from industrial pollution. In 1995, residents battled one the largest meatpackers in the world, and now they're fighting a proposed hyperscale data center on the same exact land. Our on the ground reporting follows Kingsboro residents currently organizing to stop a $19.2 billion data center. The proposed project would draw millions of gallons of water daily from the Tar River watershed during a state-designated drought. Shortly after this was filmed, Belinda Joyner's community of Northampton County won a 32-month pause on data centers. There is a national coalition working to win data center moratoriums at the local, state, and federal levels. Learn more at StopDataCentersCoalition.org
