NYERI COUNTY, 1st February, 2025: Former President Uhuru Kenyatta attended the interment ceremony of the Late Kanja Waruru in Chaka,Nyeri County. Kenyatta eulogized Kanja as a devoted family man, a patriotic Kenyan, and a person of great integrity whose presence will be dearly missed. “Kanja was not just a brother to Wachira but a brother and friend to all of us who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, humility, and dedication to family and friends have left a legacy that will endure,” said the former Head of State. The service, conducted by Senior Pastor Elijah Wanje of Ridgeways Baptist Church, was well attended by both local and National government leaders, who gathered to honor Kanja's life and the influence he had on those he touched. Among the mourners were Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development Mutahi Kagwe, former ICT CS Joe Mucheru, and founder and chairman of Royal Media Services Dr. SK Macharia, among others. The Late Kanja Waruru was the brother to Wachira Waruru, Group Managing Director of Royal Media Services.
