All types of Phrases in detail । Phrase in Bengali । English Phrases নিয়ে দুর্দান্ত ক্লাস Dear Viewers , In this video I have brought the second part of types of phrases . In this episode I have discussed participial phrase and prepositional phrase . A ParticipIal Phrase is a phrase that starts with a participle and acts as an adjective or adverb . A Participial Phrase can come in the beginning of a sentence , in the middle of a sentence and also at the end of a sentence . Remember - Participial Phrases must be placed as close to the nouns or pronouns they modify as possible . A Prepositional Phrase is a group of words that starts with the preposition and ends with an object of the preposition ( noun or pronoun ) . When a Prepositional Phrase modifies a noun or pronoun , it acts as an Adjective for example - The boy wrote a paragraph about Netaji's life . Here 'about Netaji's life ' is a prepositional phrase and it describes the noun 'Paragraph' . So it acts as an adverb . When a Prepositional Phrase modifies a verb or adjective , it acts as an adverb . For example - 1) The book is on the shelf . Here Prepositional Phrase 'on the shelf' modifies verb so it acts as an adverb . 2) She is good at drawing - Here 'at drawing' is a Prepositional Phrase and it modifies the adjective 'good' . So it acts as an adverb .
