So wrote Lewis about the 19th century Scottish novelist, teacher, and poet George MacDonald. Lewis truly did seem a little frustrated that his readership continued to be so unfamiliar with this author, and throughout his adult life he never stopped recommending MacDonald's books to readers and friends alike. Months before he died, he placed MacDonald's Phantastes at the very top of the list of books which had most shaped his vocational attitude and his philosophy of life. She lectures internationally and publishes widely in books, journals, and online, on topics related to MacDonald; 19th century literature and faith; the Inklings; Faith, Arts, & Imagination; Ecology and Community; etc. She features in the documentary "Fantasy Makers: Tolkien, Lewis, and MacDonald," and is guest on numerous podcasts and YouTube videos.
