📌📽 Muzeul Arhitecturii Populare al Gorjului din Curtișoara

🚌 On the way to Stuttgart, we stopped overnight in Curtișoara, in the generous parking lot of the Gorj Folk Architecture Museum. 🍙 👉 The Curtișoara Museum, built between 1966 and 1975, was founded around the Cornoiu Cula, built in 1785, the mansion and the water tower. The cula, the water tower and the land were purchased in 1927 from the Cornoiu family by Constantin Neamțu, the governor of the National Bank of Craiova. He also built a mansion, in the style of old boyar houses, a servants' house and did some modernization work on the cula. The Cula in Curtișoara is one of the most representative for Gorj County and one of the most beautiful. It was a permanent dwelling, built on three levels (caturi) on a plateau overlooking the Jiu Valley, ensuring visibility to the south in the direction of Târgu Jiu. The hut was restored in 1966-1967 and integrated into the ethnography section of the Gorj County Museum, namely within the Museum of Folk Architecture in Gorj.
