I Taught My Deaf Son How To Swim!!! As you know we just bought our Dream home in San Antonio Texas and the best part is that we finally have a pool for the kids to swim in and have fun. The only problem is our 4 year old son Neo does not know how to swim. So we flew in one of the best swim instructors in the country to teach him how to swim. And I made him a bet of $5,000 dollars that if he could teach our son how to swim and survive in the pool in one week I would pay him that much or all of the lessons would be free. We knew that he would not want to wear his Cochlear Implants while in the water, so this made it a little more challenging for his swimming instructor, but with the help of ASL we were actually able to make a lot of progress. Again, this just goes to show that Neo's hearing loss doesn't stop him from anything!
