An ancient Cagliari legend tells that one day, a long time ago, the angels asked the creator a place to live. God advised them to go down to earth to choose a region as a home. Angels visited so many places, but none lived up to their expectations. One day they saw a green island surrounded by white beaches and crystal clear waters. An enchanting, peaceful and serene land, with immense natural riches. It was Sardinia. Gi angeli reported their decision to God and moved to the great Gulf of Cagliari which since then took the name of "Golfo degli Angeli". Time passed serene until Lucifer, moved by envy, he decided to unleash his army of demons against the angels and conquer that land. The war in the skies of Cagliari went on for many years, until one day the Archangel Gabriel, in the heat of battle, with his flaming sword he unearthed Lucifer, who lost his saddle which fell into the promontory and petrified.
