Rocco Rodio, quarta ricercata

I posted both my 2025 recording, and a recording I made in 2005, so you can compare. In the past I used to take this piece at a faster speed, which now seems to me historically unjustified, and sounds a bit too fast, preventing the music from breathing and deploying its soul. But maybe someone can have a different opinion, and prefer my old manner. Let me know... 0:00 recording from 2025 8:30 recording from 2005 Rodio notated this music as 4/2. This seems to imply that the tempo is expected to be more or less the same as the one Praetorius indicates for the cut-time. Indeed, this seems to be confirmed also by looking at Ricercata I, which at this pace makes perfectly sense: the rapid passages of the last part can be played without changing tempo. Both versions are played on the same clavichord, build by F. Gazzola.
