There are many iconic predator prey relationships around the world, but not all of these relationships are one sided. Prey animals have developed a variety of different defensive mechanisms and behaviors, and some of them are so affective that predators rarely bother them. Some animals annoy and frustrate predators so much that the predators learn that they aren't worth the hassle, and this allows relatively small animals to survive in some of the most competitive ecosystems in the world.
