Roubo Folding Bookstand - One Piece of Wood

The first time I watched Roy Underhill build one of these Roubo folding book stands, I knew I had to try it. The whole stand is made from one piece of wood. The hinges are carved and then the board is cut straight down the middle to split it open. I've lost count of the number of these book stands I've made over the years, but it's more than 20. I usually make them out of walnut, but for this one I gave Jatoba a try. It was much tougher on my chisels, but the results were gorgeous.
