Forlì is the capital of the Italian province of Forlì-Cesena in the Emilia-Romagna region in northern Italy with around 118,000 inhabitants. Forlì is located on the eastern foothills of the Apennines on the right bank of the Montone river. About 30 km north-west is the famous Italian racetrack of Imola. Ravenna is around 25 km north-east. In the city center, medieval architecture mixes with buildings of Italian rationalism. In the city, which is still partially walled, there are still a few historical buildings around the arcaded Piazza Aurelio Saffi. Forlì was founded in the 2nd century BC.
