Paperback: https://amzn.to/3QvzH3W (affiliate ad) Many students will be graduating this spring, and some of you will have the opportunity to work on either a med-surg floor or a progressive care floor. Having worked both of these areas of nursing, I thought I'd share some differences between the two. I'll also tell which area of nursing I preferred. https://www.registerednursern.com/med... Progressive care patients tend to be sicker, require complex nursing skills (high acuity) and equipment, code more often, and are often total care patients. These patients tend to have longer hospital stays as well (days-weeks, sometimes a month or so). You tend to have a lower patient-to-nurse ratio in this area (I had about 3-4 patients). Med-surg patients tend to be more mobile and independent, have shorter stays (sometimes less than 24-hours), code less often, and require less complex nursing skills. You'll usually have a higher patient load in this area of nursing (6-7 or more, depending on your facility). #nurse #nursing #med-surg #icu Website: https://www.registerednursern.com/ More Videos:    • DopamineĀ IVĀ DripĀ CalculationĀ &Ā NursingĀ Con...Ā Ā  Nursing Gear: https://teespring.com/stores/register...
