Art Chat Sketchbook Progress | When CTD becomes challenging I always have my sketchbooks!
This month I'm sharing all of my progress in my sketchbooks and on my loose sheets of paper. I've not been terribly well this month, so most of my work has been simple and relaxing - just what I needed. As, when my Connective Tissue Disease throws me a massive flare up - the one place I can find comfort is in my sketchbooks. But I have drawn some lovely seahorses and some neurographic and zentangle pictures, so it's not been all bad. Do use the timestamps/chapters below if you prefer to watch through a particular sketchbook. 0:00 Whats on todays video 0:27 Progress in my Zen-Doodle / Neuro-Doodle Sketchbook 12:46 All the loose pages that I've drawn 15:56 My Regular Sketchbook Progress 18:00 Progress in my Art Journal 19:38 Life Update (Please note, I am not endorsed, sponsored or otherwise, for any of the products or brands mentioned. You can also drop by this page (without buying a coffee!) for weekly updates on new videos and work in progress, I've been doing my very best to pop a new blog post up every week for the last few months. --------------------------- After becoming ill in October 2022 and being diagnosed with Graves’ Disease (in remission as of October 2024), I decided to start sharing tutorials for all of my flowers and creations. After spending eight years perfecting my techniques, I had to close my selling platforms due to my health — but I didn’t want that knowledge to be lost. So, I began sharing everything here on YouTube to help others learn and create too. Since then, I’ve also been diagnosed with Connective Tissue Disease (February 2024) and Cutaneous Lupus (June 2024). I now live with chronic fatigue, brain fog, and episodes of pain and exhaustion. Because of that, I’ve shifted my focus to exploring art techniques and crafts I’ve always wanted to try but never made time for. Drawing has become my go-to creative outlet — something I can do quietly, even on difficult days. For anyone dealing with chronic fatigue syndrome or autoimmune conditions, I can’t recommend it enough. Sometimes, a sketchbook and pencil can bring far more peace than endless doom-scrolling. Do subscribe if you don't want to miss out! You can turn your notifications off in your settings, and just catch up when you like, with what you like in your subscription feed. Here you’ll find a selection of guided and non-guided drawing videos, art experiments, gentle monthly catch-ups, reviews and craft projects. I’m always refining ideas, experimenting with techniques, and sharing the process honestly — not perfectly. If you’re exploring new art techniques, returning to creativity after a break, or simply looking for a more realistic approach to making art or craft, you’re very welcome here. I share calm, thoughtful art sessions focused on neurographic art, zentangle, doodling and creative development. Living with autoimmune illness and chronic fatigue means my progress isn’t always consistent. Some months are productive, others quieter. Drawing keeps me grounded — a quiet form of art therapy and a way to unwind. If that pace resonates with you, and you value steady creative growth over perfection, I’d love for you to subscribe and follow along.
