January 2026- Expedition Medicine with Dr. Ayesha Tabassom

Dr. Ayesha Tabassom, MD, FAWM, DiDDM(c) is a double-boarded EM/FM physician who completed a fellowship in wilderness medicine. She serves as an event doctor at a plethora of events ranging from free diving competitions to NASCAR in Daytona, FL. She also serves as an expedition doctor for Linbald Expeditions via National Geographic. This month, she gave an excellent overview of what it takes to train to be an expedition medic, how to plan prior to expedition departure, how to conduct day-to-day operations during the expedition, and how to conduct and effective debrief at the end of every trip.
