AI for Development Professionals | Compassion Rwanda Cohorts 4 & 5 – Day 1 Training

This video captures Day 1 of the Artificial Intelligence and Data Skills Training for the Technical Team of Compassion International Rwanda (Cohorts 4 & 5), delivered by Data+ Rwanda. The training is designed to strengthen participants' understanding of emerging technologies and their practical application in development work. During this session, participants were introduced to the foundations of Artificial Intelligence, including key concepts, terminology, and the growing role of AI in enhancing productivity, decision-making, and innovation across organizations. The training also explored Generative AI and its practical uses, with demonstrations of leading AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, and Gemini. Participants learned how these tools can support research, content creation, communication, and problem-solving in professional settings. Topics covered during Day 1 included: Artificial Intelligence Foundations Introduction to Generative AI ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, and Gemini Building a chatbot using Microsoft Copilot Studio Agent Content creation and design with Canva AI Research and knowledge management using NotebookLM Introduction to KoboToolbox for digital data collection Through practical demonstrations and hands-on activities, participants gained valuable insights into how AI-powered tools can be integrated into their daily work to improve efficiency and impact. This training is part of an ongoing capacity-building initiative aimed at equipping Compassion Rwanda professionals with the digital skills needed to effectively leverage Artificial Intelligence and modern data tools in their programs and operations.
