Train and Railbus Ride at The Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum

Come with us as we explore the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum in Nevada City, CA. Experience the magic of the "Never-Come, Never-Go" railroad and with a train ride through the beautiful meadow. We toured the museum’s incredible collection of historic locomotives, walked through the active restoration shop, and hopped aboard the famous Railbus for a trip into the meadow. I recommend you visit on a "Steam-Up" Sunday, which is the second Sunday of the month from May through October (10 a.m. - 3 p.m.), to get a free railbus ride down to the meadow and ride the steam locomotives ($5 donation/adult). Expect an opportunity to ride the Nevada County Narrow Gauge #5 (The "Tahoe"), built in 1875, this is currently the oldest operating narrow gauge steam locomotive in the United States. It’s a genuine Hollywood star, having appeared in numerous films before being meticulously restored by museum volunteers. This train might get robbed, so be careful.
