SOLD: Elkhart Conn 8D - M Series, Great Player!
This horn has been sold. The original listing can be seen at this link: https://www.boydsbrass.com/product-pa... This is a fantastic condition Elkhart 8D! This horn is an M-series (M67990) horn, and it plays with a glorious, milky smooth 8D sound. The horn plays great in all registers, and is everything you'd want from a classic 8D! This horn is in good used condition. The valves have not been rebuilt, but have great compression, showing lower 'miles' for this old of a horn. The original lacquer is about 80% intact. The leadpipe shows signs that it got a decent bump at one point in time, but it has been corrected and though you can see a tiny bend in the pipe, I don't believe this is affecting how the horn plays at all. There are some dings in the bell flare (lots of them). Hard to know why those are there. You can't really see them from a short distance, but if you look close you definitely can see them. None of the dings or scratches on this horn affect how it plays at all. This is fantastic horn with lots of life left in it! This horn has been professionally cleaned and serived and is ready to play! The screw bell lines up fine and works well, but it is stiff. I didn't have any trouble lining it up and putting it on, though. Also, the hand grip is a bit large, so if you have small hands you might have a hard time with the left hand grip. A used but good ProTec ProPac case is included with the horn. No mouthpiece is included, but if you want one, let me know and I can include a standard mouthpiece (Holton MC or similar) with the horn. Feel free to contact me with any questions you have!
