I test drove the Lexus NX 450h+, the first PHEV model to be released in Korea, on Jeju Island. This fully redesigned second-generation NX model was released simultaneously with the 350h hybrid model, and the 450h+ plug-in hybrid model. The 450h+ I test drove boasts a 2.5-liter gasoline engine paired with a 125-horsepower electric motor, generating a combined power of 307 horsepower. It's capable of everyday driving on electric power alone. Equipped with a substantial 18.1kWh battery, it offers a range of 56km on electric power alone. The base model lacks a head-up display (HUD), while the F SPORT model comes with a HUD and electronically controlled suspension. Considering its SUV utility, generous electric range, and price, the 450h+ appears to be a competitive PHEV.
