SILOE en SEGOVIAS MUSICA
Last week, Segovia hosted more than just a concert. It was the setting for one of those encounters where music transcends mere sound, becoming a refuge, an embrace, and a shared journey. Under the Castilian sky, Siloé once again demonstrated that songs can also be a form of prayer when they spring from the truth of the heart. The trio from Valladolid, comprised of Fito Robles—the songwriting soul and unmistakable voice—Xavi Road, architect of soundscapes with his guitar and production, and Jaco Betanzos, whose pulse transforms every heartbeat into rhythm, delivered a live performance brimming with intensity, beauty, and humanity. These three musicians, rooted in the simplicity of their origins, have crafted a universe where folk, rock, pop, and electronic music seamlessly intertwine. It's no coincidence that they chose the name **Siloé**. The name originates from the Pool of Siloam in the Gospel, the place where Jesus restored sight to the man born blind. But beyond the miracle, the group explained that they are inspired by the awakening of a new perspective, the ability to discover reality with different eyes. And that is precisely what their songs achieve: opening windows where before there were only walls. In Segovia, anthems that already belong to thousands of people resonated. Todos los besos (All the Kisses), Si te pones de mi parte (If You Take My Side), La verdad (The Truth), Dime (Tell Me), Campo Grande (Great Field), and Las Palabras (The Words) speak of enduring love, of fragility, of the search for meaning, of the home we always long to return to, and of the immense power words have to wound or heal. Each verse seems to remind us that hope never truly disappears, even when the path becomes uncertain. Perhaps that is why their concerts have something of a collective celebration about them. There is a light in them that doesn't dazzle, but accompanies; an emotion that doesn't shout, but caresses. For a few hours, the audience ceased to be a collection of strangers and became a single voice, as if each song were a bridge built between people. And as the last notes faded among the ancient stones of Segovia, the certainty remained that music, when born from authenticity, possesses an almost sacred power. Because there are melodies that entertain, but there are also others that help us look further, to believe a little more in ourselves, in others, and in that invisible light that, even in the night, continues to guide our steps.
